Dang those are so ugly  - they are almost cool  . I might have to get a set just for fun (officer look at these hubcaps you really think I was speeding?). Anyone have a picture of them on there car?
i never cared for 'em. My car had them when I bought it, but I took them off as soon as i got home. Found out real quick that they are HEAVY when I dropped one on my foot. Check my sig to see them on the car. They don't go well with white letter tires.
My '71 came with them. Found standard ralleys under them but since I didn't have the ralley trim or money to get anything else, I grew used to the caps.
I think these are one of those collectible Vette oddities, but would look conservative on any Vette.....recently a member had a near mint set up for sale, at $50 to $100 bucks each, which is probably worth it, but I've got more pressing issues with my car.......
A full wheel cover option was available on most Corvettes built between 1968 and 1973 under option P-01 for 1968 and P-02 for 1969-1973. It was not available on Corvettes equipped with RPOs L-88, ZL-1, ZR-1, or ZR-2. The cover is a two piece configuration with a seperate center cap mounting to the main body of the wheel cover. The full wheel cover was used in conjunction with the standard steel wheel as well as a set of valve stem extensions.
Personal opinion about appearance aside, the full wheel covers are very heavy... I seem to remember around 27 pounds. Duntov hated them; he always lamented that despite his objection the stylists got their way with that one.
There was similar full wheel cover available on other Chevrolet cars around that time. The caps differed from the Corvette versions... I believe the covers with the passenger car caps are what is being auctioned on Ebay although it is hard to tell from the angle that the photo was taken.
