gas guage readings
put in a new fuel tank in my 71 270/350. I tried 3 new sending units, the guage shows half when in fact i use only about 5-6 gal of fuel, checked ground all seems ok, pull off round plug frm sending unit, guage goes to beyound full, pull off square plug, nothing happens, the gas guage was always fairly accurate with old tank and sending unit. Im original owner 73000 miles, car is all original. Need some advice to correct, thanks

What happened to the original sending unit? Does it no longer work after the tank swap as well ?
