I can tell you right now you got the deal of the century. A lot of us here on the forum have followed Steve's project Insane Asylum (Merlin) for over 2 years and this is both a sad and happy event. I almost feel like that car is our step-child so treat her well. Welcome to the forum and let us know how that beast performs. I think we all want to see some 1/4 mile timeslips and another dyno once it's fully tuned. CONGRATS
I live in Bloomington. Do you live in the Twin Cities area? Does this mean I will be able to see it at some shows? I think it could win some awards and get in some magazines at the Car Craft Summer Cruise this summer.
I'd like to get it in some magazines and I figured once it arrived, I'd start making some calls. I would also like to get it out to as many shows as possible. Send me some info if you have any. I'll try to fit it in. Thanks
It's a great show, and I think the Vette would be one of the wildest cars of the whole event. I am sure the Car Craft magazine guys would notice that car right away. Hot Rod magazine and Chevy High Performance magazine will also be present.
:yesnod:
WOW, that was fast, it seemed like only last week that Steve announced he was selling the car. Enjoy it for all of us, will ya? And welcome to the forum. Joe
Like everyone has already said Welcome to the forum and I am very interested in how Merlin works out for you.
It is a beautiful car that just needs someone who appreciates her and take the time to work out the bugs.
Good luck and we want to see lots of reports on her performance.

You need to have the picture hosted somewhere on a website then add it in your profile in your signature,[ img ]picture[ /img ] with that before and after the url .
Can anyone give me a few pointers on how to post a photo? :mad
Welcome to the forum. This forum uses the UBB codes. To post an image you need to have the picture located on the web somewhere that hosts pictures. Then you include a link in the text by typing the following:
Except with brackets and not braces (if I used brackets in the example then the forum software would think it's an image and try to load a picture).
Congrats on buying Merlin. I shot some video of the engine startup, and some video of when it was being built...I suppose Steve isn't going to part with it. Perhaps you could ask him to make a copy for you...it's like 8 CD's in avi format in 720x480 24bit color with 16bit audio. It took me a couple of days to cut it up and burn it onto CD's, but if he can't get them to you then let me know cause I still have the original tapes and can make a transfer to VHS in just a couple hours.
To post a photo, you must have a website that will host the files for you. Use the image button and then type the link to your picture between the image code. It will look similar to this to have this photo show up:
I replaced the square brackets with the ones you see so it isn't recognized as code, below I left them as square brackets and the picture file I linked to shows up. the first few times are trial and error.
