I've seen people selling them on Ebay for decent prices. They are usually selling 30-40 of them and they have a set price, so you just pay for them like you were ordering a set. Summit and Jeg's have always been good to me. Call them and see how much shipping is and see if the total is more than what it is for a pair on Ebay with shipping.
How do I know which flowmaster 50s I'd need for a 71/350?
How difficult of an install is this for a home mechanic with no welding equipment? (stock exhaust is on my car now.)
I had a Flowmaster dealer install my complete system from the headers on back. He used the 50 series and I am quite pleased with them. This is not a job for someone with no welding or exhaust experience. To make it fit correctly there are going to be some minor bends and tweaks of the system. It was not the cheapest system I have seen on the forum but I have no squeaks or rattles and the system sounds great. Daddyo I had Mufflex in Trenton do my sytem. You might want to give him a call, he does great work. I have sent a few people to him and they have been very satisfied.

Are your stock mufflers welded to the stock exhaust? (If yes, proceed directly to professional installer!) Are you planning to replace mufflers only and keep your stock exhaust? That is probably more difficult that changing your entire exhaust system. I am not 100% sure but you probably have a 2.25" system. (Mine is 2.5") The exact muffler you get will depend on the size inlet/outlet you want and the location of the inlet/outlet.
Gordon is a much more competent mechanic than I am, so if you are smart you will take his advice and proceed directly to Mufflex. However, I replaced the entire exhaust system on my 68 including Flowmaster 50s, and it wasnt too bad of a job. Of course, my exhaust system consists of about 12 pieces per side all clamped together.... but it worked. The Flowmasters are larger than stock and are a very tight fit back there. Another issue is the Flowmasters require additional elbows at each end to fit onto the stock exhuast pipes (and tips). My entire system is off the car right now as I am installing headers. (One of the reasons I clamped it all on myself was so I could take it all off by myself for this job! :) ) MJ
mvftw: I don't know if they have the absolute cheapest prices, but I got mine from Summit.
I just got a set of 40 series flowmaster w duals put on and the muffler guy said that since the mufflers are so far back that there would be no difference in sound in the 40 vs the 50 and he also said that the 50 would rob some of my power because the 40 is more freeflowing. I like the flows and they sound really good.
