Default What should I do with original motor?????

I'm buying an AR Racing crate motor this summer and I'm not sure what I should do with the original motor. My vette's a '77 so I don't think having the original motor is as big a deal as it is with the chrome bumper cars. I'm 99% sure that one of the lifter bores is out of round on the original, as it keeps eating that one lifter and cam lobe. So, even if I sold this car at somepoint down the road, I don't think having the original motor would do me much good. So should I put the original in the corner of my garage or part it out

Save it. Otherwise you will be sorry down the road. Your not going to get rich by selling it and i am sure that the next owner would rather have it with the car than not. Just my 2 cents.

I would keep it, but I cant have enough parts laying around. Ran out of room. Got an engine bagged on a stand in my bedroom, along with some carbs, heads... If that's not for you, it really won't do much good to have it around. Sell it and see if you can pick up a few bucks for beer while you swap motors.

Well, to me a 350 block with a lifter bore that is out of round is worthless. As in, you couldn't give it to me for free, cause it takes up space.

350 blocks are a dime a dozen. I think you are right. In a 77, it's not that big of a deal.

:iagree: exactly what I was thinking. I'll sell some parts and make a few buck, I already have buyers :yesnod:

if you have the space then bag it and tag it, never know you might need it in the future, remember people used to say bumper cars were not worth much, just some food for thought.

The other thing is, my car will be so modified by the time I'm done that I don't think anyone would want or try to return it to stock, and I don't plan to ever sell it
