With the L48 the car was born with the TH350. The California model had the TH350 with lock-up converter and all 1980 Corvettes sold in California had the LG4 305 engine. Just like the California model that is in my driveway.
My 1980 350 ci (L-48 non California car) has the original, numbers matching, stock, TH350C transmission.
Someone may have replaced the original transmission at some point. Does the number on the transmission match the VIN?
Easy to tell, the "C" transmission, it has an electrical socket for the lockup on the driver's side. An electrical harness runs from that transmission socket to a vacuum switch on the firewall.
The firewall vacuum switch is controlled in-turn by a TVS (thermal vacuum switch) that prevents converter lockup when the engine is cold.
