I don't know what year the hydraulic clutch appeared in the corvette but I do know that the 85 one ton truck clutch master cylinder bolted into my 75 with only a linkage change. The hole in the firewall was there with a cover plate over it along with the mounting holes. So after shortening the linkage which just involves cutting it shorter and running a die over it , it bolted right in. I also used the bellhousing from the same truck because is fit an 11 inch clutch and had a slave cylinder on the side.
What was the first year the hydraulic clutch was installed in a vette ?
gman
1984. Dave McLellan's book "Corvette from the Inside" page 83 has a discussion on the hydraulic clutch. It was done to restrict drive line loads from people "dumping" the clutch.

Great info. I'll have to get one of those. I have a ZF-6 cylinder and although it fits it's just not how I want it to be.
Marck I am going to pick up all the drive line pieces this week for my change over . I will send some pics of the slave and master cylinder when I pick them up .
