alternator problem i think ot
I was driving my wife's car. It is a 2000 Malibu when all electrical gauges started flashing on and off and finally they all quit and registered nothing. No lights either. I drove it to the house and thought it was the battery. I checked the battery with a voltmeter and it checked out okay. But I took my battery off of my pickup and put it on the car. It started right up and everything worked fine. I checked the volts at the battery and it checked 11.54 and then I checked the alternator voltage at the alternator and it was 19.54. So I'm thinking the voltage regulator has gone out in the alternator. Any help would be appreciated.

I think that you may have lost connection in one of the fusable links or leads to the battery from the Alternator. There is no way the Alt will be putting out 19V and the battery is 11V.
