How to make side pipes louder???
Just reading the thread about driving with the side pipes off, open collector. If I take my pipes off, is there a baffle assembly that can be removed or modified or replaced??? What kind of system fastens the baffles inside the pipe?

This is what i read , but have not done yet and going to try some day about the running with open pipes. There is an baffle insert inside your pipes ,if you pull the sidepipe off your header then you can pull the insert from the pipe, to make it louder you can drill four or five holes at each end of the pipe this is an inexpensive way b/c reuse your pipes. If you want better sound and performent you can get the JCL baffle for around $300.00 and replace them that what alot of poeple using JCL insert now.

With the JCL inserts is it too loud for the road crusing?? Because where i live in Winnipeg Manitoa, theres a big cruise night, every sunday, all the guys (alot of kids in their parents car) go out and drive around (alot of idiots). The police hate it and typically you'll see a cop car every 2 minutes on a Sunday night. They will pull us over and ticket us for absolutely anyhting they can to get us off the road. The way i have my pipes now they never pull me over but I'm scared to go any louder. Any opinions??? Can you make the tone adjsutable? say drill holes and make a plug device for quieter driving?

c3 shark tank I am disappointed you weren't pasing those cars and you weren't even redlining it. :lol: jk nice clip it looks exactly liek mine does from inside.

hahaha, I went into an abandoned parking lot ang glutamine83 started doing a burnout and some doghnutts. After he stopped i waited for about 10 seconds to make sure no cherries went off. Then I ripped a good 20 second doghnutt fishtailing crazey rubber laying spin out. I'm gonna film that kinda crap for you guys next time. (but cover the plates) :lol:

I had open side pipes then i got stopped , so what i did in a pinch was .
i had a CHERRY bomb GLASS PACK that was the same dia. as the side pipe
so i hacked saw it in two and put ea. half into the pipes went out cruzin
that same day , sounds like the Hooker insert with out the cost (free)

JCL's here too -------the sound is truly awesome, I was suprised how quiet they are with a radical big-block. I like the sound as it is , but Jim told me they can be drilled in the center to customize the sound to make them louder !!! Rick :party:

The sidepipes have been laying on the floor for a year now waiting on the vette to come back from body work and painting. I told the guy who has it that I am coming to get it done or not after the power tour this weekend.
Oh yea, I have JCL spiral baffles in the too...
