Windshield Wiper Problems with 77 vette
When I turn on the windshield wipers the driver side wiper will extend past the edge of the windshield and get hung on the edge, then it will not return. The linkage rod that connects the wiper motor to the wiper arm mounting bracket appears to be to short to me, but I am not sure. After looking at the assembly manual I still cannot make out the orientation of the mounting bracket.
Could someone take some pictures of the driver side wiper arm mounting bracket in the off position and at the fully extended position and post them for me. And if possible the measurement between the two ball mounting points were the linkage rod connects to the wiper motor and the wiper arm mounting bracket. This measurement will give me an idea if the linkage rod is the wrong length.
It looks like the problem is the linkage rod is to short. When the wiper is fully extended the wiper arm mounting bracket leverage rod were the linkage rod connects will go past horizontal and overextend, this allows the wiper to go past the edge of the windshield and get hung no the edge of the windshield.
This is very hard to explain.

When I get home I will get some pics, my drivers side wiper will somtimes hit the windshield pillar, but it never gets stuck. When it is in the down position is it all the way down? The wiper arm might need re-seated back to its proper place.

I tryed resetting the position of the wiper arm on the wiper arm bracket and it puts the wiper blade aginst the down stop very hard, almost broke it off. This is what puzzels me and makes me think it is the lenght of the linkage rod that is the problem.
