Need Advice on Seat Covers
Hi everyone
I'm doing a complete upgrade of my 77 interior and was wondering how hard it is to install new seat covers and foam? The local shops want $300 labor.

I did mine myself twice. The first time I only replaced the covers and kept the original foam. That wasn't too bad but it still wasn't fun. Last year I decided to replace the foam so I pulled the covers off and then reinstalled them on the new foam. I lost a lot of religion that weekend because the new foam is fatter than old stuff and the covers fight you the whole way. If you've got patience and don't mind spending a lot of time to get it right go ahead and give it a try. Otherwise let a pro handle it.

I ordered the seat covers for my 77 from Willcox and was going to put them on, but I ran out of time, so I had a local guy do it. He does does beautiful work and charged me $200. I supplied new foam, covers and installation kit. He cleaned the frams and spray painted them. I have done other seats in the past and it is not too bad. There are several good articles if you do a search.
