Ground wire on forward lamp harness?

Ground wire on forward lamp harness?
I'm installing the new forward lamp harness on my 71' and there is a 6" ground wire coming out of the harness next to the connector for the parking lamp extension harness on the left side. Where does it go? The harness I removed had it also, and it wasn't hooked to anything. Should it be? There is an 18" ground wire in the same area that screws to the rad support.

If you stand in front of the car with the hood open and look in, you will see that the wiring harness for the HEADLIGHTS runs along the steel header bar, from left to right. DEAD center in the middle of the header bar is a hole for a wire harness retention clip. The 18" ground wire you describe is attached to the screw that holds this clip.
The short 6" black wire goes on the radiator support.

:iagree: I just replaced my front harness too and landed the small ground wire to the A/C condenser braket as shown in my assembly manual. You may want to verify electrical continuity with a multi meter/resistance check. :thumbs:
