Hi
I just bought a hardtop for my 68.
The seals are old, but still useable.
How can I freshen them up ?
Can I use Siliconespray or MS4 compound or Vaseline ?
Why are the hardtop weatherseals so much more expensive than the softtop once ? :mad
Thanks Gunther :seeya
I would think that vaseline, since its a petroleum based product, might not be the best thing for the weatherstrip adhesive that holds that stuff on there. I think weatherstrip adhesive remover is just petroleum distillate with propellant added. Essentially Zippo lighter fluid (by the way, cheap alternative to weatherstrip remover).
Well this might sound crazy..... but most copiers use silicone oil for their heated rollers, I've used it for years on all my cars, It keeps it real soft and pliable. and the great thing is its cheap and a bottle will last forever.
