"oh gee the sun is bright I'm just gonna adjust my sun visor" i thought to myself and "SNAP". it didnt even snap it just came off in my hand. Now I'm looking to fix it. It appears theres a chrome plug insert that fits in the top and must be pried out allowing access to.... i imagine a nut. Does anyone know how to remove the sunvisor pivot arm from the windshield frame???
Re: need help, broke off my sun visor (bloodvette80)
Your right, just romove the chrome cap. Inside you will find a spring with a little one way clip that holds the visor arm. You have to pry the clip up a little and force it to be a two way clip. If you end up breaking the clip too dont worry, they are cheap and ecklers has them.
Re: need help, broke off my sun visor (bloodvette80)
hey I'm a farmer if I break the clip i am gonna make one. anyways, they used a white metal, obviosuly unweldable and pourous for that shaft. I'm thinking of using a 1/4" soft steel and bending it to shape. Does anyone know how to remove the sunvisor pad itself off of the shaft??? I tride to slide it out with no success.
ok I'll try a little harder tonight. It really got me angry, as if i needed one more thing to fix on my car. But I apologized 10 minutes later.... I'm sorry I yelled at you... I love you. :cry jk
Re: need help, broke off my sun visor (bloodvette80)
I had this question before , but got no answer . I am not sure if it is the same on 80 and 81 . My 81 had a regular rod arm on the passenger side , you just pull it out , but on the driver side i had a tele rod , if this is the side you broke then either you replace the whole visor or just the elbow . I have not fix mine , but i don't think you can pull out the rod of the tele sun visor it look like you can seperate the elbow and the rod , the rod is fixed with the visor . In Ekcler book they show the elbow for $18.00. I will order one soon.
