C3 owners - what brands and weights of oil do you use?

castrol 20W50. had bad luck runing synthetics with flat tappet cam.

Castrol GTX 10W-40. I only use synthetics on the daily drivers.

Pennzoil 20W-50 off the shelf for everyday driving with an STP oil filter from Autozone. But, for racing I buy a case of Pennzoil 20W-50 Racing Oil.

I use Castrol 10W-40 also. Good range for the cool times (10W) and the blistering heat of summer on the 40 side.

Valvoline 30w. pretty much year round.

Tried the synthitics, but it leaked to much out of the old gaskets.

Mobil 1 10-30 full synthetic. I have no idea if it's any better but I figured more expensive must mean better...right? :crazy:

Castrol GTX 10-30...tight, new engine
when engine gets older...20-50
i will never use synthetics again...
tried em twice...both times, cars developed leaks...
switched back, leaks stopped...

i have read many places that todays "crude" type oils are all about the same...
now filters...thats a different story...
nothing but the best for me...Mobil 1
