Lectric Limited is advertising correct temperature sending units for C3 corvettes. Has anyone tried them? Are they any good? They look correct but do they work correctly?
I must B missin' sumthin' here.......doesn't The General make replacement temperature sending units in both 1/2 and 3/8 NPT? I know I had to go to a 3/8" unit with my Hi-Perf heads....I have used 2 diff stats and both read correctly...... What makes Lectric's so special? The price?
""""What makes Lectric's so special?"""" The price?
The "service replacement" style has that "buttonhead", which you had to change the plastic clip end to convert it to this style(buttonhead). Lectric Limited is reproducing the "correct, original" style that was just a straight stem or peg with a small groove in it.
Thanx Paul....not NCRS here.....just want the thing to run and read right. :D
Then you'd probably be better off getting a NAPA one. Their Balkamp and Echlin parts line are probably made much better than the AC Delco **** coming out of Me-hi-co :(
A couple of weeks ago someone posted a part number for a 3/8" sized temperature sender that was the correct calibration for our temperature gauges. I think it was for a Volvo or a Saab or some other kind of European car. Does anyone remember the post? I've searched and I haven't been able to find it.
Note to Paul Borowski: W/a 160 stat and a 1/8" hole in it the temp gauge barely moves. With a 190 stat it reads (ta da!) 190! Aint that close enuff? Or am I missing sumthin' here?
