Also, the nose emblems go from a chrome outline to a black outline, as does the rear window moulding. Its always an easy indicator of what year the 80-82 body style actually is. 82's have the 'crossfire' badging as well to distinguish 81 from 82 :)

:confused: I have similar questions. Can you just unplug the computer,run a non stock carb,recurve the dist. and put a shift kit and stall converter in the trans? :) :seeya

You could do that all except for the distrubutor, if you switch to an older q-jet you would also need to go with a vacuum advance distributor. But why????? The E4ME works really well when properly set up and it's not that hard to do.
