1bad69... If you see this thread, my center caps came in and they appear to be chrome plated. I'm wondering if they sent you the wrong ones? Drop me an email if you want the guys name and phone# at Ultra.

Why did you change from the TT II's? did you go with a larger rim? they are very similar just a bit more angular. I really like them just seems that the TT seem to be the rim of choice on here.

I'm running 17x8" wheels. I have no doubt that the reason they are the rim of choice here is 'cause they look so damned good on a C3. I really like the looks too, but I ran into problems with mine and the dealer finally took them back and ordered some 409's for me. Here are a couple of archives about it. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=406349 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=527258

I remember reading those posts, sort of scared me off getting a set, just glad that Olivier came along and offered to sell me his Cragar's. I really like those 409's, and after seeing them on 1bad69's they look even better when one sees them personally then in a pic.

Great choice! When I got mine they sent me alum centers. I like the looks of chrome centers better.

Oh you guys are killing me. I have been wanting the 409's or the TTII's for so long. Just one more of those things that has to wait. Arggh. I think maybe I will go with the 409's though.

i too got the aluminum spinner and it still had the grooves from the cutting tool on it...i had to spend 100 bucks to get them polished...i just spoke to a guy at Ultrawheel to find out why some of us got the shaft on the crome ones..i bought mine last year...now, they have re-packed them with the crome spinners...so i guess if you bought them recently you got the crome...he also said they have been discontinued due to poor sales...the 17's are gone...so if you were planning on getting a set of these you should do it soon....if you want more info..the number is 1-800-742-7050...

he also said that they sell the crome spinners seperately...chris, the guy you bought yours from, did he sell you a package which included the crome ones or did they come with the rims without the special order for them?

The rims showed up without the caps, which took about 2 more weeks to get here. No one said anything about an extra charge for the chrome caps, so I just assumed it was part of the deal. Before getting my wheels, I heard from several retailers that the molds were damaged and it would be a few months before they were back in production, which is part of the reason it took me so long to get them. I wonder why they would make new molds if they're discontinuing the line, or perhaps that was just a 'line' to their dealers in response to a lack of interest and production in the wheel? Man, this whole business wheely sucks!
