Default Good Canadian Vendors?

Does anyone know some good Canadian vendors for C3 parts? I've found that the fee for shipping over the border is killing me. It costed me an extra $80 just for my headers over the border from Jegs.

Talk to PAm at Ontario Corvette Corral, she is very friendly and knowledgeable, and she has very decent prices.

There are very few outlets in Canada. It is just a fact of life that our C3 population base cannot support a company based in this country. Here is a hint, however. But do not expect miracles. They have similar expenses as individuals when importing parts.

I agree Pam is great, also where the Orangeville Corvette Club hosts its meeting, I just called Performance Improvement and they beat Cdn. Tire on a carb by nearly $200 cdn.

If all of the Ontario vette owners could get togeather and place their orders through a single business we could save piles of money. I am in the High Performance Marine industry in eastern Ontario right on the New York Ontario boarder, I broker all my own shipments from the U.S. and save a lot of money, although we can't get around paying GST and PST on purchases we can save a lot by 1) ordering large orders togeather and 2) if I were sure of a reasonable amount of business I could possibly set up some distributorships with the various suppliers and I am sure get resonable discounts.

If anyone thinks this is a worthwhile pursuit email with your thoughts.

Thanks

If your looking for parts closer to home try http://www.corvettespecialties.ca there located in Vancover B.C. They have allot of stock parts and will help in finding anything they don't have, plus 2 days shipping. I just got my corvette 3 months ago, and i ordered O-ring calipers from VBP florida and i hear you on the cost. i hope the are worth the price to get them here.

Never ever go to Corvette specialties. They are the most overpriced shop out there and everthing you buy there can be bought at local shops for cheaper. They charge $50 for an oil change and they wanted $3200 for hooker sidepipes. I called up another shop and they said i could get them for $1600. To further back up my story I have met ppl at car shops and stereo shops who have worked there and say that the stuff there is way overpriced and they silently laughed at all the suckers who bought stuff there, especially those that bought the cars.

I say go to Canadian tire(just dont let them install) and remember, they have price match plus 10% back in Candian tire money

Hi Kevin,
I've dealt with Bruce at Corvette Specialties in Surrey B.C. for years. When I lived in Washington I bought a couple of cars from him and many parts, great price and service. In fact I still deal with him on occasion now that I'm in California. Prices are still great and they deliver to my door in about a week.
If you have any questions call Bruce, (604) 580-8388 he's the owner, or his brother Glenn, he's also a great guy and races a terrific C3 at Mission Raceway. Donny is the guy to talk to in parts, he knows his stuff and he's always friendly and helpful. They have a large slection of used parts and I know what you mean about saving a buck when it comes to restoring these cars.
Good luck, Greg

mxzx turbine -> I don't mind paying the exchange, shipping or GST/PST it's all the other charges that really bother me. I go a bought a set of headers from Jegs for 210 US and ended up paying 500CND. Last time I bought something from the US.

I have some Bilstein shocks on order right now and I told them to send them US ground mail, we'll see how much I get shafted for this time.

ya, handling and brokerage can really add up, UPS is on of the worst for brokerage charges, I do all my stuff my self, saved a lot of money over the years. If anyone wants to get in on an order at a particular vendor I will be ordering interior parts for my 71 in the near future.

MotorHead

USPS Ground doesn't hit you quite as bad as UPS

Free Door panels cost $40.11 with UPS
$30 Exaust panel was $15.11 USPS Ground

I just got done shipping bumpers to STPMAN, I didn't find the shipping to Canada to be anymore expensive than shipping within the USA. I was hoping to get some business from you guys up there. If there are additional costs i am not aware of let me know. Otherwise break out your credit card and start ordering from corvetteworks. I will try to beat the prices you are getting up there.
