So last night i was crawling around in the 75 i building trying to install carpet. In the far left rear corner of the car i found what looks to be a computer buried back there. Can someone enlighten me to what this is. I am pretty new to these rubber bumper cars. I didn't think they needed a computer on these cars.
Have no idea but do know that it is not a factory installed computer. So it is in the "trunk" luggage area at the back on the drivers side? Could it be an amp of some type for the stereo?
I checked my 75 AIM and it does not show anything behind the drivers seat. The seat belt interlock assembly is located at the rear of and under the center console behind the emergency brake. Behind the passenger seat (but in the locked compartment) is the alarm system flasher and horn relay. You may need to trace the wires and see where they go. What color are the wires?
I think it is the part of the factory alarm system. There is also a relay in the storage compartment on the passenger side... The horn for the alarm system is behind the wheel well on the drivers side on my '74, so I would guess that having a module back near the horn would make sense...
If this is what you're talking about then the correct answer is sequencer module for the seatbelt interlock system.
PART of that system is under the radio/gauge bezel but another part is in back on the driver's side. It also has some alarm functions too if I recall correctly.
Didn't have one in my 75, the only thing back there was the rear window defogger. The wiring schematic I have shows a sequencer module, must be pretty big as there are a lot of wires to it, but I haven't found one anywhere on my car, nor the wiring for one.
As I understand it the seatbelt-interlock system was installed on 74s and early 75s. I don't know what month they stopped though. I'd be willing to GUESS that most 75s don't have this potentially irritating system. But, like I said, I have no stats.

Mine was already disconnected, but I think all the parts are still there. The warning buzzers are the first things to go in my cars, but I normally leave the warning lamps working...I like lights cause I don't have to look at it, while a noise is kinda hard to ignore.
