Seems lately I have been doing very little get my vette back on the road, the desire just isn't there when I have another car that I can hop in and roll. Well I finally got up under it and put in the new rear bushing, fund the old bolt, upper bushing and washer/fitting still on the crossmember. Had I not found the washer/fitting (looks like a washer with a shaft like ext that fits into the smaller bushing) I would have never know you needed it. I also cleaned up the tranny/shifter brackets and the bolts so those should go in this week. Still need to take the tranny and bellhousing to the car wash and degrease them. Going to yank my intake and see if I can get it fully sealed, no sense be a slap dick about that. Have not made a decision about intalling the steeriods but I did buy a serp set up with ps pump but it needs some serious cleaning. If all goes well in 2 weeks I should have a tougher decision when I head out to have some fun, hope the weather is warmer by then.
First of , Cool Formula. I used to have an '89 Formula 350. It was a great car for the first 60k miles. I bought it new for $14,700 and it could beat C4 Corvettes. I bought it to replace my daily driver '72 Vette convertible. I regreted selling the Vette 'til the day I bought the '68. The Firebird became an expensive POS. I don't reget selling it, but a was fun in it's good days:)
But to answer your post-
I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and installing a new transmission. At first I was really dragging my feet. Each work day I would take apart more. I couldn't see light at the end of the tunnel.
But now the re-assembly process is under way and as things come together I can get a lot more excited about working on it! I'm not dragging my feet any more. I now have clear goals for what I eant to do and I set aside time to do it.
I think knowing what you want to do helps a lot. If all goes as planned I'll be up and running in two weeks! I haven't driven the car since March 1st. I missed spring and some of the summer!!
