Default Update on the 69 Restoration

Hello Guys,

First let me apologize as I have fallen off the face of the earth ever since moving to Reston, VA and taking on a new job. Not much time to contribute the forum. But after a year I have made great progress on Natasha and she is almost ready to become a street walker again. Here is the latest link to new pics. If you want to look at other phases just click the corvette emblem to go backwards. Go easy on me she is still very dirty but running and almost ready for action after 3 years out of commission. Best wishes to all of you.

hahaha more like dremel pads. Had her all polished up then had to do some more work and she got all dusty again. Steeroids goes in next then maybe I can get her back to presentable. Thanks.

Is there just the one fan in front of the rad? Or is there another behind it?

Just one electric fan together with edelbrock victor water pump, be cool aluminum radiator, and aluminum heads, intake and hoses I dont anticipate needing more cooling but we will see.

If you dont mind my asking, why didn't you get a fan to pull air from the back of the rad, as opposed to your front "pusher"?

Couple of reasons all of which are probably flawed. Most prominant were space to mount, and directional flow of the fan I bought hahaha. I have the vette brakes spreader bar mounting the shocks together and it would have caused a mounting problem.

Default Front mounted Electric Fan

You know, I have a set of front mounted dual fans, and I'm not sure how tall they are compared to the fan you have, but I've run into a problem with the hood with the fans installed in front of the rad like that. Seems that when the hood prop is installed, it needs to raise the hood just a little too far up in order to reach its locking position. When I try to extend the hood / hood prop to this position, the nose of the hood bangs up against my fans. Thus, I haven't been able to get a hood prop that will hold my hood up.

Considering going with a rear mounted Flexalite FLX-295. But those things are like $365... ouch.

Something to consider, or something you'll probably notice when you mount that hood on there. Let me know if you run into any problems.
