Need some engine detailing advice
I removed my water pump last night and before I put things back together, some engine detailing is in order. I want everything to look original for a '76 L82, and have a few questions...
What color is the water pump supposed to be? I will be repainting the pulleys and the fan. Should these be semi-gloss or flat black? The engine block will be repainted orange. Is the thermostat cap also supposed to be painted orange?

In 76 the pump was orange matching the block. My '76 came OEM as an L48 so I don't know if the L-82 had an aluminum intake or not. If so, the t-stat housing should be silver. Mine was orange...matching the intake.
