couple scoops of dishwasher soap, fill'er up with water and go drive for about 25 miles. let'er cool off and drain it, pull your block plugs to get the water out of the block.

Make sure you use the stuff for automatic dishwashers, NOT dishwashing detergent.

Two or three scoops (what are we talking here about 1/2 measured cup, tablespoon?) of the automatic dishwasher powder should be enough? and that removes the build up around the flow tubes?

I wouldn't use dishwashing liquid or powder. You may never get all of it out.
Besides, it's made for china and glass not aluminum, brass, steel and rubber.
I would use something made for flushing the radiator, something like Prestone cleaner.
