We just recieved our cut-pile (80/20) the other day. It's more 'soft and fuzzy' like you might expect to see in a newer car. We're removing the loop which remind me of 'burber-rug'. I say 'we' because this is supposed to be Wifey's project :smash:

Re: cut pile or loop? (Ganey)
Cut pile became std. in 77, is nicer & rec.!
:iagree:
However, it depends on what you are trying to do. If you are doing a factory correct restoration you should check the trim tag and go with what origianlly came with the car.
i think its a matter of preferance...
i, myself hate the newer, fuzzy, cut pile...like the junk that came in my 79...
to me it apears cheap and personaly i think thats exactly why they went with it in the "later" years...
it seems as tho car manufacturers were more concerned with quality in the earlier years and somewhere in the 70's they all bacame more profit driven than quality driven...
that being said...when i replace mine i am definetly going with the 80/20 loop pile like all of the cars had back in the 60's and early 70's...
to me...its more atractive and dosnt mat down the way that the newer stuff does...it also seems tougher...
bottom line...i think its a matter of personal preference...
I absolutely hate the cheezy cut pile carpet, fibers come off like there ain't no tomorrow, cut pile may look a bit rougher but I think it's a lot tougher
Cut pile was of course used in the cars with the deluxe interior packages, loop was the standard stuff. I prefer the look of the cut pile myself. Make sure you guys order it through corvetteworks!!!! I will give you guy's a great price. Email me at corvetteworks @aol.com :yesnod:
