Last night was the first of our summer car shows in my sleepy little town. We are real close to San Diego and for those 'outtatowners' that aren't familiar let me fill you in on the history: This La Mesa Car show has been going on, every Thursday night for years and it generates HUGE crowds as the Summer goes on. But for the past few years, we've had a big prob with ricers taking up two spots each, turning their wannabe cars sideways across them, and limiting parking for hot rods. Then their loud RAP music would keep pi$$ing the neighbors off each week.

The neighbors got together and told the city that if they wanted to keep having the weekly car show on Thursday nights, they better KICK THE RICERS OUT!! AND THEY DID!

Click on any of the thumbnails for the 640x480 JPG image. One of the notables was unfortunately a Ford but check out that red '70 Rustang - it sounded tremendous and didn't look too bad either. There were a couple of other C3's there too as you'll see.

Seems a few idiots ruin for all others. Bet if the ricers where all respectfull and didn't park like that or play their music at super high volumes they would be welcome. Oh well, they'll learn. :rolleyes:

Ricers are the **** in the grand parade of life: they show up where they're not wanted, go out of their way to be outrageous and obnoxious, but yet aren't able to figure out why they aren't liked or accepted, let alone respected, by anyone other than their peers.

I like reminding them that Civics are what girls drive to Walmart when they need tampons.

Somebody shoul check and see whether Fokker still has the patent rights to those triple "park bench" rear wings...

that reminds me of that sign i saw on here a while back..." your engine is 2 liters... my mountian dew is 2 liters also..." the ricer set is in my eyes a blight on us that are true hotrodders... i really get tired of the neons in the neighborhood with the coffee can sized exhaust that think they have to redline going thru the parking lot in 1st....

Exactly what criteria did they use to kick the ricers out? American-made cars only? Classic cars only? No butt-ugly, tampon fetching, fart-can infested, sticker-covered, subwoofer booming pieces of $%&^?

They are doing the same type of stuff at our local show in Knoxville. They come in and play the radio so loud you cant enjoy getting out there seeing the cars.

Last year at Crystal Lake, Il cruise night, a '69 Chevelle 454 fired up-need I say more. After that some of the ricers fired up...what silliness! the whole crowd was laughing. This year I vow to bring my weed wacker and as soon as they are done, I am going to let it rip. some of the Hot Rod shows are no weven doing ricer stuff. Kind of disapointing. There's still nothing like a 571 blower whirring befroe your very eyes.

I find it interesting that my car would also be turned away being it's not a 73 or earlier :( . I don't know if I'd leave my 74 parked out on the street :confused: . There are sometimes exceptions to the year rule where they'll allow a Corvette, Porsche, Ferrari or what not join in with the fun ;) .
