I have a 1970 vette. I have been having problems with my wipers not working. First I replaced the wiper motor, that didn't help, then I replaced the relay under the console, that didn't help. I have checked the voltage to the motor, it appears to get volts.
The really odd part is when I have the heater on high and turn the wipers on (not that they come on) the blower motor stops.
Any suggestions would be great, this is begining to really frustrate me that I can't find the problem (s).
Thanks, Victor
This is all caused by one of those stupid little GM wiring glitches, finalized when you or someone changed the starter motor, there is a thick enough black about 10 ga wire, with a 3/8 diameter eyelet on it, it goes to the ground, NOT the battery positive post...bet odds that's what happened...some genious decided to put it where it's allways confused, it goes under any engine ground bolt....starter I think was intended, but reality is when I redid my underhood harness to make sense out of it for once and forall....I put that gound up top of the engine on the intake manifold....it's the ground for the tab and lone wire on theframe of both the wiper motor, and the heater blower motor....
when I redid mine, I had been noticing my heater motor never really put out much....found the wire groundig it was bad.....
renewed the wire thickness to 10 ga throughout, and used ONE EACH eyelets for those motors.....drop voltage across THIS, muvvas....

Thank you very much. This has been a very frustrating experience. Yes, 'I' put the wire on the positive battery....it seemed that is where is "should" have gone. Thank you again.
