Re: Dyno Test in Illinois (evilsmf)
Hope you find a dyno they are the next best thing to the track, a real blast.
Do: Make sure it's tied down good.
Don't : Stand in front or behind it
A few more, make sure the car is safe to take to 5500 RPM or whatever. Make sure it is warmed up good and some say to let a little air out of the tires however I have never tried that. I'm sure others will chime in and I will check back as I am open to any tips too as I am going to dyno mine again soon :D
E&R Performance in Lombard/Villa Park (on the border between the two towns) was in the process of building up a chasis dyno the last time I was in there (early Winter). Check them out, they're on North Avenue (630-782-6822). Also, there's a place up in the Arlington Heights/Schaumburg area who has a chasis dyno. They specialize in C5 turbos and superchargers, but I called them once and they'll dyno anything with 4 wheels. Might try a thread search in the C5 forum........
D&M Corvette has a car Dyno. Has anyone been there. What did you think.
Who else has this in the Chicago area. :steering:
Are there do's or don'ts when taking your vette to the Dyno. Any info would be great. :flag
Do make sure you have a tank full of good gas. If you're just doing a couple /three pulls no big deal. If your tuning top it off.
Make sure your fluid levels are topped off. Change your oil lately? Also make sure your your air cleaner is clean. You're going for max HP, restrictions are not allowed :nono:
Keep in mind that you will be putting stress on your motor and drivetrain. Parts may break or you may scatter your motor. Not likely but it may happen.
Phoenix Performance in Palm,Pa gets $75 for three pulls.
