Default Broke in the cam tonight

I've been rebuilding/upgrading the 350 in my 81 since February...no I'm not in a big hurry. We finally got the engine started tonight and broke in the cam for 30 minutes. Yahoo!!! The engine started with no problems and theres no leaks (except for the POS brand new Milodon 7qt kickout pan that has a leak in a seam weld). :D It's running with open headers until I get everything sorted out and the car to the exhaust shop next week to match up the headers to the exhaust. Man it's loud!!

Can't wait to actually drive it :steering: as the project has taken about 3 times longer than I thought it would. I've been kidding my buddy that's been helping me that we might get it done in time to put it up for the winter.

My 3 times longer than expected is multiplied by years and still not finished. I am bringing it home Sunday and it is gutted on the inside...no wiring or nothing..At least I have already restored everything that needs to go back in it..I think

Sounds like me- I just have to finish getting the spindles in and getting the engine started after being down for 2 years. I have 2 weeks, I've been working on it for several hours every day, so I feel your pain. Congrats!!

I've found that on such projects(I just finished swapping heads & cam) you estimate the time it'll take, multiply by at least 2 or 3, & then multiply that by about 2 to account for wrong/missing parts or machining issues. Congrats on getting it up & running, and best of luck with it.
