When I bought my 73 a few weeks ago, the seller gave me two products he swore were the best he's ever used. Both are by Formula 113, one is a wax and one is "Bead-X". I've always used Meguiar's and been very happy. What kinda bothered me was when I started to apply the wax it was almost like it was sliding around on the surface! Anyone else use this stuff and what kind of results did you get?
Alot of sheep will swear by Zano ( just kidding guys  )
Zaino must be great by the popular vote. However I suggest something different. Go to your local Auto detaling/ car wash place. Find out who supplys them with there chemicals. And buy the stuff "wholesale". I personally feel that I can get something just as good as zaino but for $25 a GALLON (opposed to $40 for 3 oz....or something like that).
Im not nocking zano, Im shure its great stuff. I just suggest you can get the same stuff for a lot less.
I'd strip the old product finishes off first by washing with a detergent like Dawn. Then try reapplying.
But if you want my opinion on the lowest maintence/best result product to use, then I'm with TSHORT all the way!! :D
The thing I like about Meguiars is their web site has so much info and they have a product for almost any paint situation. Plus they have the professional stuff too.
This might be low tech here with all of the new fancy thigns out to make your car shine, but I used Turtle Wax Carnauba wax and it made it shine brightly. Just put a little bit of elbow grease into it and buff it till the circles disapear :D
I've been polishing cars for over 40 years and nothing, I mean absolutely nothing, comes close to Zaino in ease of application and durability. a lot of other waxes will look just as good the day you use them but nothing will look as good a month later. This was born out by independant tests from many different organizations that I've read.
Zaino is the best I've used and I've been waxing for 25 years now. IT looks a bit more expensive but I hae gotten over 6 coats out of a bottle with at least one or two more left. Clay bar is awesome as well. Gets the car sliiiiiiiiiick.

Re: Opinions on Waxes (Steve Adkins)
I have always used Meguires also. I have a can of gold class that I have used and am well pleased with it. I have given thought to Zaino just never followed through with it.
I just use Race Glaze. It's cheap, seals very well, works on glass, and lasts a while. I only had to wax my car once last year (only had it for half the season though). Still was shiney when I put in the garage. Now it needs a good wash and wax though.
(EDIT) HAHA if you type Formula 113 without a space it looks like *****
The ********** and BeadX are from a guy that will send out free samples. He has had some major fights with the Zaino crowd a couple of years ago, and was banned for the Corvette Forum.
I tried his stuff, and wasn't very impressed. Although the beadX wasn't bad for quick cleanups.
I haven't tried Zaino yet. but with the results I can get from Maguires, I have a hard time convincing myself that I need to switch.
I've used the Meguiar's three step product on my regular drivers and the results were great, although "waxing" a car three times is a lot of work. Haven't tried the gold class yet. Is Zaino a mail order product or is it available in the local auto stores?
I can't say I've tried everything out there but I've tried a bunch, at least 10-15 different waxes through the years. I've tried Mothers, Meguires, TurtleWax, etc and couldn't believe the difference with Zaino. If used properly, Meguires worked pretty darn good but I still could definitely see a difference with Zaino. The thing I like so much about Zaino is how easy it is to apply and it does seem to last quite a bit longer.
Let's pose this, has anyone here used Zaino and then gone back to something else?
I think the people that say Zaino isn't worth it haven't used it.
But in all seriousness, any wax or polish is better than nothing. So choose what you will, I'm very happy with my zaino.
EDIT: Frickin-a, I sound like a commercial.....zainy for zaino
