After winter storage the rear end makes a little noise at slow speeds @20-25 mph when the differential is "floating". Otherwise it is quiet and does not chatter in turns. The fluid was changed last fall with the GM posi additive and all was fine until this spring. I've done the figure 8 thing, just wonder if anybody has any other ideas other than a rebuild of the diff. Thanks :chevy

I just changed my 4 spd and rear end fluid yesterday - Mobil 1 in both with GM Posi additive in rear. I am AMAZED at how much quieter the entire gear train is now - and I had no complaints before! Every time I have changed over to Mobil 1 in any vehicle, something dramatic happens - usually noise and ease of shifting.

I had some noises in mine and it turned out to be a cracked posi case and damaged spider gears
