Where would one go to find a solid "donut" type of spare that fits in the spare tire carrier? OR would my existing 15 spare get me a few miles in an emergency
Try and get a spare that is the same diameter of the rear tires. If its not, and you get a flat on the rear, I would move one of the front tires to the rear, and put the spare on the front. The problem with runnung different diameter tires on the rear is it will cause excessive wear on the pinion gears and posi clutches, since the different diameter tires on the rear will force the differtentail to be constantly operating to make up the difference of the distances from each revolution of differtent size tires. Not an issue on the front since the front tire operate totally independent of each other.
