Which is the better gasket for L82 alum. valve covers? I think cork works well with steel, not sure about alum. I have read some posts that said one type is better then the other.
I just put my L82 back together with the original aluminum valve covers. I used the Mr Gasket Ultra-Seal gaskets. They're cork with a black rubber coating on the top and bottom to prevent the cork from breaking apart as it usally does after time. They've only been on for a few days, but they're a perfect fit and seal perfectly.
I'm using the Felpro rubber with the L82 covers. The rigidity of the valve covers works great with the rubber gaskets. You can even remove them and reinstall them with no leaks. Either way you go you will be fine with the aluminum valve covers.
