Finally got the vacuum issues resolved and the wiper door opens when the wiper switch is moved to Lo or High. Unfortunately, the wipers do not come on. I have checked the fuse and confirmed the service switch is turned to the left (counter clockwise). The limit switch plunger seems to be engaging the switch.
What troubleshooting can I do to determine where the problem is? I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never had to troubleshoot an electrical problem so I don't know where to start.

Ron, things to check that will cause "no power":
1. Make SURE (with a meter) the llimit switch is closing.
2. Make sure the ground wire is attached to the wiper motor. There should be a spade lug at around 12:00 looking at the motor with a black wire attached.
Aside from checking for a GOOD ground connection to the motor, I usually remove the wiper motor and with a couple small jumpers(wires) I connect them directly to the battery. If the motor turns on then it's most likely a good motor. Alot of times it's simply a faulty gound connection.
Ron, I just went through the same problem. Make sure there is a Black ground wire coming from the blower motor on the passenger side to the wiper motor housing. Also make sure the plug is not on the wiper switch backwards. It will fit either way and if its wrong it will let the cycle option work but not the low/high.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check it out this weekend.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram they could email me (rbrinton01@yahoo.com)?
Thanks for the help!
Ron
You might want to get a laminated diagram from Lectric Limited...somthing like this.
They are very big, like 2' x 3', so they are easy to read, and the lamination helps so you don't wreck it when your hands are all greasy. I have a 69 too, and with 34 year old wires, I am sure the diagram will come in handy. One of my better investments, I think. :yesnod:
