adding a speed shifting switch to my TH400
i'm adding a 2nd downshift switch set to downshift when the rear barrels are only 1/4 open :eek: if this is too intense i'll add a console switch to select the old switch for "normal" and the new switch for "sport" or "race" :D

got it hooked up. took 2 hours :rolleyes: one microswitch burned up from too much heat from the soldering gun.
WOT downshifts will now be at about 15% WOT on the back barrels.
WHY?
1. when it was new it was 200hp, now it is 200hp at half throttle so downshifts should be at ths point.
2. pump shot wont be wasted; before as you pressed down it got a big shot of gas, then it downshifted :rolleyes: now it should shift, then get the pump shot :yesnod:

Does make sense though, why waste the shot before the eng can really use.

When my secondaries opened on the 1904 it looked like Niagra Falls,hardly even noticed the "shot".I never got the trans to hold the gear long enough in drive anyway,so when I "played" I'd slap to second,pull to 6000,then let up on the gas slightly for the shift,then back on it.Worked quite well.
