Default My future engine is starting to move forward :)

Well like the title says, I'm finally starting to see some progress
The new Dart Little M block with 4.125" bore is being prepped and measured to order the custom JE pistons I need for the Bryant 3.625" billet crank & 6" H beam rods I have. I'm going for 11.0:1 compression. The pistons should take about 4 weeks to get.

I just ordered my mech roller cam from CompCams. The numbers are 248/254 dur @ .050, .614/.621 lift with 1.6 rockers 112` lobe separation with cam being installed @ 108`.

My heads are Brodix Track 1's that have been ported & polished.

The intake is an Accel single plane highrise intake made by Lingenfelter Performance for EFI along with my 1200cfm billet throttle body I got from them. I have 42lb injectors and plan on controlling everything with a Holley Commander950 ecu. Not sure what size feed line I should go with yet ?

So what do you think, and comments/ suggestions on my custom sbc :)

Sounds like an awesome combination. It should spin up pretty fast, I'm guessing around 500HP and 450 ft-lb in torque. Interesting choice of stroke length, what made you go for 3.625 vs 3.75 or longer, the rpm response?

I went with the 3.625 because I got a pretty good deal on it from Ebay. I'm hoping the quicker revs should be an added bonus. ;)

You may not need that large of inj's and it makes it harder to control idle quality with inj's that are too large. I would shoot that question out on the C-4 forum to get some feed back. I would think 36lbs might be large enough unless you plan NOS or supercharging. Again I am not sure but thought I would bring it up.

Sounds like it should be a load of fun!

Fevre I originally had 36lb injectors but got nervous that I might have to pump the fuel pressure up too high to feed my horsepower goal of being close to 600hp at the flywheel. I've heard that if the fuel pressure gets to high it can cause the injector to stick open. This is a learn as I go, so I may end up going bvack to the 36lb after everything is together.

I don't know anything about EFI or Dart blocks but that sounds like a hi-tech engine Mike. No expense spared! @108 should give a lumpy idle? No? Why the change? :D

Very nice engine combination. You'll never have to make excuses for that parts combination. Those injectors are fine, you'll have no problem getting it to idle just fine, especially with that cam. I ran 50# on my 650hp NA SBC 427, and 83# on my TT SBC 427. I tuned each to idle smoothly at 800-850 rpm. Don't be afraid to run 30+ degrees of total timing at idle.
