200-4r setup Help!
I have make my swap with BTO, I have a TV made EZ for Holley 1460 600cfm. My problem is a TV cable travel. I have make a TV setup (low pressure + 2 psi ) but I can't go to WOT, the cable is too short. I think to modify the radius of the carb kit, what do you think about this problem ?
Othe problem, after my pressure test, send by fax to BTO with no reply after 2 weeks, I call by phone with a BTO's technician, me in spanish ( I speak french, italian and spanish but my inglish is very very bad, especially at phone ) and him with an guy to traduce, not easy, hi tell me about the pressure are not good ( the same at idle TV connecter or disconnected ) and see if I have a cable problem. I have make a new pressure test and before call BTO, somebody can tell me if thei sound good ?

Thank you in advance for yours responses an sorry for my inglish

I'm using one with my TV cable and it is allowing me to have a proper setting at idle without limiting throttle travel to full open. This springy thingy would not be necessary if the geometric relationship between my TV and throttle linkage travel were in sync.
I will eventually modify/correct my linkage to allow proper actuation of the TV cable.
I don't remember where I found this drawing but it may help you adjust your "TV made EZ" linkage

Here are the line pressure values from my 700R4. My pressures are a bit higher than normal due to some modifications.
Pressure at idle TV connected/disconnected/High idle full TV
Park=105/95/255 Reverse=135/125/270 Neutral=105/95/250 OD=105/95/255
Third=105/95/255 Second=235/235/245 First=(my shifter cannot access first)
What I got was:
idle with TV disconnected - 76psi
idle with TV connected - 78psi
1500rpm, TV cable pulled out fully - 195psi
All gears were very, very close to those readings.
Is there any way that you can move the TV cable mounting bracket up or down to get the correct travel on the cable???

Just noticed, you're from London!! Hi :seeya
I got it from Bowtie in California. The shipping costs were surprisingly good (about $200 for the lot). The shippers deliver it to Folkstone (I think - it was somewhere in Essex anyway!), so I just had to pay a guy with a van to go & pick it up. The crate really isn't that heavy & would have easily gone into the back of my car - the usual story of you live & learn.
Now that the credit card is paid off I can say that the 200-r4 is really worth the money. It transforms the C3. Driving on Motorways at the speed of the traffic no longer results in damaged ear drums or several gallons of fuel. It purrs along at 75mph @ 2000rpm & is frugal with fuel. I love it :D
What part of London are you from?

Im in North London... Primrose Hill? .. though my car is actually parked in my parents drive in St.Albans at the moment!!!! pending MOT, tax, insurance,parking permit etc (you get the story!)... it's been off the road for a while, but just fitted nes exhaust and 4 new BF goodrich tyres.. and hopefully back on the road at the beginning of next month.
The 4 speed auto is definatly on my wish list, and it's really interesting to hear some people are using the 200r4 in preference to the 400. On paper it seems better suited to my needs, having (so i've heard) a higher top gear for cruising, and a not so low bottom gear (even my current box changes out of first in about 3 seconds!) .. did you have any concerns about it not being as 'beefy' as the 400 r4?
... and $200ish seems pretty reasonable to ship a autobox..... how much was the box itself?... did you get all the extra parts (TV stuff etc) from them too?
Yes, I know Primrose Hill. I used to work all over London many years ago, well before Ken Livingstone was let loose on the place.
I also keep my Vette at my parents house - is this a strange English quirk?!
The 200-4r is BRILLIANT!!! It's a Level 2 BTO unit & can handle something like 450hp, which is far more than my L81 is kicking out. The 3rd gear is the same as my old TH350C (1:1) and the lower gears are a lower ratio, but it seems more useable than the TH350 was. The OD is great. Whereas I used to be doing 70mph @3000rpm, I'm now burbling along at 75mph @ 2000rpm. It's really helped on fuel consumption, although when driving around town I use 3rd gear, as it will do 35mph at idle in OD.
The swap was easy (unless you decide to make a custom exhaust system at the same time!!) & I put a post up about it a couple of weeks back. The total cost of the parts & shipping was just under £1000 & that included all of the goodies, except for the transmission x-member (which an '80/'81 must have, earlier years can use the existing one apparently). On top of that is the UK customs duty & handling charges & then shipping from the Docks (although, being in N. London, it'd be cheaper for you to drive over & pick it up yourself. Out of all the mods I've done to my Vette it's the best by far. I can cruise at modern traffic speeds without the engine revving away & running costs are much, much lower with that lovely OD gear. If I'm sounding really enthusiastic about the tranny it's because I am!! All C3 autos should have OD - it completely changes the "personality" of the car & gives nice Highway economy without losing off the line accelaration. Plus you can fit low rear gears (Bowtie reckon that 3.55's work really well with it) & still keep a sensible cruising speed. The only surprise I had was that it ran hot (in England?!) so had to fit a transmission cooler, which was no big deal but is something to think about if you're on a tight budget.
Will you be at the Nationals in a couple of weeks??? I hope to be (unless I fry another starter motor) so could show you what's involved.
:cheers:
Hmmmm, shall i not bother to tax and insure my car , and just spend the money on a 200 r4 in instead??? decisions, decisions!
You certainly sound completely convinced by the conversion... i am totally sold! ...
Yep... Hoping to pay a visit to the Nationals, though not sure if the vette will be there with me (cross fingers)... It would be really interesting to look over your car.. if your starter holds out! (had mine rebuilt twice!!) :D
