Differential Yoke retainer C-ring
I am planning to replace the yoke needle bearings (since I seem to have an extra pair) and side seals in my '69 differential (with 4.11 gears). Any mechanics out there have any hints about getting the c-clip retainers removed and then installed. I know clip ring pliers are required, but any hints would be appreciated. You don't seem to have a lot of room to work with in getting them off and on.

Get a quality set of right angle snap ring pliers ,,,,,,,,,,, the kind with out removalble tips !

Ralph, the 90* snap ring pliers are the way to go. I have a pair that are fixed tips and work better then any of the replaceble tip pliers I've used. I used to get them at the local bearing house but haven't seen them in years. I've seen the industrial snap ring pliers Sears has and they look pretty good. Those are replacement tip plier too.
