Low vacuum
I installed Edelbrock performer heads comp xe268h cam Edelbrock airgap intake Edelbrock 600cfm carb. In everyday driving it runs great if I'm going down the road and stomp it, it comes alive. I took it to the dragstrip and from a dead stop it fall on it's face until about 2500 rpm when it picks up so I checked for vacuum leaks, I plugged everything off and at idle in park I pull 15 inches and in drive 7inches. I also added a adjustable vacuum advance to compensate for the low vacuum at idle and this helped the driveability of it. My thinking is I need a stall converter, any ideas or opinions?

converter may not be a bad idea. I do think you should be able to make the car work fine without it tho. I dont know what you could do other then see if you are too rich or lean and check your timing.
