I just put in a new engine with aluminum heads and intake. Needless to say, the entire front end of the car, rides extremely high now due to the weight reduction. Anyone have this problem and if so, what did you do to remedy the situation?
Thanks in advance.
Smoked.
Autozone or Oreilly's BB springs for $59.00. They a Moog's. Install and wait a day. If you don't like the height, then cut off a high coil and reinstall. Cut until you are happy or dragging the front air dam.
Yes, I already know of cutting the coil springs. I was hoping there was something less involved than that. I guess I will just have to bite the bullet.
Re: Front End Ride Height Adjustment? (TotallySmoked)
Did you go from a big block to a small block? I went to aluminum heads on my 78' L-82 and didn't notice any difference in ride height. Did you have the front suspension apart? If so, maybe the spring isn't seated in the lower control arm pocket. Had this problem on my 71' and it sat high. Had to disassembly the control arm and reset the spring to get it back.
I did have the entire front suspension off and redone. I am pretty sure I twisted the springs back into their seat in the bottom A-Arm. I will check, thanks. I had a SB originally and have a SB now. It also has an aluminum intake.
