Default Sequential tailights - rice or nice ?

Title says it all - but C3 pertinent, as I am now considering the bubble lens as
a temporary taillight solution. With the 2 red taillights on each side, I though
this might be nice. Then I thought it may be rice. I really liked them on the
old Cougars. Hmmm. You guys decide.

If I get a majority of 'undecided', then I may repost the poll again w/2 choices.

EDIT - the flashers and turn signals cyle constantly - like the picture.
Brakes will cycle one time and stay lit solid.

EDIT2 - I saw a 73 at the NH Spring Fling last weekend, and it had 3 red taillights
on each side. I would definitely sequence that - but I'm sticking with 2 each side.

I have bubble lights on my 71, love em.
All four light up on brake, the outers blink on turn.

I wouldn't go with sequential, but I don't think it looks rice.

you need at least 3 lights for it to look good, if it's just 2 like on a vette it looks like crap.

Rice or nice.......Niether in my opinion. It isnt rice, it existed on the Mercury cougar long before the first honda hit these shores, Nice....IMO with only two it wouldnt look right, with three you could at least discren a direction - with two it will look like you are waffeling back and forth.

Have them both light up solid - that would look good.

Sounds like something Ford did with their T bird. Or something Cadilac would do!

But to each their own. Choices ... I love this country! :flag

It's obvious you're quite a few moves ahead of me......I'm not trying to get fancy, I'm just trying to get my stock system to work properly.....

What I want is: when I hit the brakes, the brake lights come on.......what I get is: when I hit the brakes.....the car overheats

Once I get the stock system working, I'll be looking to get "sequential"

BTW, I don't think it's rice......'cause you're driving a Vette :)

How about the backup lights? Where are they gonna be? Having them not working is already an invitation to draw attention and get a ticket. But having them non-existant is even worse in my opinion. It would be obvious to any officer who might be looking for a reason to get you. They could easily see that there arent any white lenses on the back. When im driving in a parking lot, im constantly looking for those white backup lights. They really help other drivers notice your intentions and help to prevent fender benders.

Opinions are subjective, but I will say it's NOT rice.

If you like them, go for it.

Well, I checked with the Dept. of Public Safety and the Dept. of Motor Vehicles here in TX. I was informed that "clear back up lights" were not part of the required lights for state inspections! I was really surprised and had that statement repeated to me. Due to the fact that I am thinking of going with bubble tail lights..want to cover my ****! But, it is a thought..would call and check out the local jurisdiction and see what is required.

:)

I like the way the C5's blinkers work. If I was going to get rid of my backup lights, I would put in dual-element bezels and wire all of them in identically.

John, I agree totally, but ANYONE with bubble tailights has this issue.
You can go with something like a 68 backup light assembly. Perhaps a couple
driving lights mounted up under the rear valence (works at night). maybe a
backup alarm like trucks have to augment the hidden lights. I've considered
many options, and I still want original lens (ultimately). They are just so
damn expensive for a little piece of plastic. $30 a set = no prob $200 a set = ouch.

It's a pretty close heat for nice v rice.

BTW - everyone - I didn't mean they look like an import, but rather
something you might find on a 'tricked out' import. Maybe I shoulda said nicey versus ricey.

Nice, unless you add stickers indicating the brand of the module used for the sequential taillights, then it would be rice

:iagree:

I believe the Cougars from the late 60's had them, but they had at least five segmants in each tail light.
