Default radiator choice?

I was wondering what brands of radiators everyone had luck with. I'm replacing the radiator in a 73 vette with air and automatic trans. Iv'e seen some of the brands offered by the differant vendors Zip, CC, Eklers.....etc...
they all have the $300.00 line (which is US Radiator) and then the price goes up, (aluminum, dated) Any advantage of buying the more expensive models vs. the standard model? I know of several friends who have installed the standard model with no problems........... :flag

73,
i know they work just fine but then your just standard. what if one day you say "hey i want a 572 big block" well if you pay just a little more like i did $4?? you can get an aluminum one which is only like 10 or 11lbs. and it will cool the big block where as the stock replacement might not. i got mine from www.dewitts.com during a GP he had going at the time. if you have time wait until there is another GP going on or try to get one started.

Thanks Mike for the web site, I wonder who makes their radiators, also, I like the idea of the radiator being alot lighter thatn the original. I'm keeping the vette as stock as possible (so I tell everyone) but cooler is better! :)

Then you're probably not interested in a universal aluminum radiator.
They fit in the opening, but the hose necks aren't angled quite right.
Folks have gotten them to work Ok - and you end up with a 2-row aluminum
radiator for less than $200. Search the archived posts or Summit Racing website.

Also, your local parts store may have a 'stock' replacement radiator that is
single row aluminum for cheap$$. This would be OK for normal SB applications.

Good luck deciding. :seeya

I went with Be Cool.. A little more expensive, but a direct fit and it does the job.... Cooling that is!
