Default 75/76 fan shroud ?

Will a 76 fan shroud fit a 75? What is the difference between a 76E and 76L fan shroud? My buddy has a 75 and needs one. Thanks for any replies!

I'm not sure what the differences are between 76E and 76L, but I know the 76E will fit the 75. Someone in C3 parts has one for sale right now. I have pictures showing my 75's in great detail that I can e-mail if anyone is interested.

76E: the radiator support has 2 studs welded to the bottom saddle brackets, the fan shroud uses them to mount at the bottom. 76L and up has clips to fit on a lip at the bottom of the support. I can get some pics/measurements of my 76E if you need them.

Just put a ’75 shroud on my ’74 and fit just fine once I found the correct core support – Bubba used a ’73 support that fit but uses different brackets. Now the mail order catalogs list ’74 through ‘76E (my guess is “E” means early while "L" would be late) shroud as the same part number. I found my used ’75 shroud at a swap meet for ~$30. Now a brand spank’n new shroud will cost ~$300 or more. After fighting the battle to install a stock shroud my advice would be to use the twin “Spal’s” electric fan with integral shroud @ Eklers (or others) by BeCool for <$200. This opens up the front of engine and a big maintenance help. Also eliminates shroud extension ($85), bladed fan ($50), fan clutch ($100). :seeya
