I've never used the skins but I've heard that they are a pain to install properly. It's very hard to get everything straight and stuck so that the finished job looks correct. I would suggest going to Corvette America's website and looking for NQP (Not Quite Perfect) parts. They are a fraction of the cost and you'd be hard pressed to find the defects unless they told you where they were. I just finished installing an NQP top pad and lower right pad and they look great. Here's a link to my post on the topic. Good luck. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=532561

I just installed one. Looks pretty good but not perfect. I wanted to do it cheap and that only costed $100. If you got the cash I'd say to get a whole new pad. But a dash cap is a cheap and easy alternative. Wasn't hard to do really. Only difficult part was lining up the screws. No holes on the dash cap. It took me a couple hours to get it all in place. It wasn't too bad.

:nono: Yep, tried'em. Not worth the effort. More difficult to the install than the dash pads themselves and easily torn. Wish I'd just paid Discover the credit interest and gone with new full pads in the first place.
Now I like the plastic top dash pad cap for ~$100. Had to paint but seems to look and feel better than stock. Expect the hard(er) plastic to last much longer in the sun.
