After rejetting and doing a minor rebuild on the Q-Jet(didn't mess with choke, it works perfectly) I took it for a test ride. I have a certain route I always travel, and sometimes take more than one lap.
I was making a turn from a stop that I've done 1000 times, and goosed the throttle. The back end usually just squats down and I go to WOT as I am about 3/4 through the turn, no sliding or anything. Well, this morning as I went to WOT, the wheels started spinning (dry, clean pavement) and the back end came WAY around on my, sending me into the grass median, narrowly missing a tree.
I've been thanking God all morning for that warning.
I think I'm close to getting that Q-jet dialed in

Re: almost wrecked the Vette (patsnitrovette)
Sounds like you are getting the carb a little closer. Keep up the good work and KEEP OFF THE GRASS.
We like you around here. Wrecking vettes is a no no. :nono:
 damn man that would have sucked!
glad you made it, dont need to hear about another vette hitting a tree cause it got away..
osunds like that carb is getting close though
sorry, no gruesome pics. I did think about going back to take photo's of the ruts in the sand..
fotunatley the ctiy must have done some work on the median not too long ago, and I sank 6" in a patch of sand. I think that kept the car from sliding into the tree. For a minute thought I was going to have to call someone to tow me out of the sand, but it climbed right out!

Re: almost wrecked the Vette (isosceles)
 Your a lucky driver man. But just wait for your close(st) relative, freind, or even mechanic to wreck it for you. :mad My shark doesn't go anywhere without me in it. :yesnod:
