New carpet install ??

New carpet install ??
I was told to clean the back of the new carpet off with some simple green before spraying 3M adhesive on. I don't recall doing this in the past, does this sound correct? What needs to be removed?

:confused: Clean the back off? Maybe just make sure it's free of dust if you're using spray adhesive. I just took mine right out of the box and used some contact cement I picked up at Home Depot. Working great so far :thumbs:

I agree with you guys I never did this either BUT I do remember it was mentioned either here or on the NCRS board about washing the back??

To follow up on this, I went to the NCRS site and did a search. It was recommended to clean the back of the carpet to remove the mold release agent that might still be on there.
