Where do you get 12v from ? Does it matter if you get it from alt. , ignition or it should be connect directly from batt? Your opinion please. Thankyou :smash:
myisa69- Connect the fans directly to the battery through a relay. You need a relay to control the fan(s) off/on with a mechanical or thermal switch. Here is a simple schematic how my dual fans are wired in my Vette. You can connect to the large red wire on the altenator for your 12 volt supply.

The closet source of voltage for the fan are the alternator then starter , but they are hot all the time . Does it make the fan stay on even i shut off the engine? Should I tap it to the ignition wire ? What a proper way to do this?
The instruction came with the temp . sensor switch showing connect to alt. for 12 volts. I am confuse.
run a switch or an ignition hot to a relay (starter to circut breaker to relay to
pos on fan)
i ran mine with an ignition hot and an override switch.
hope this helps

myisa69-Your fan will not run if you have a relay in the circuit. The best way is to install a positve lead from the ignition switch (RUN) to the primary (coil) side of the relay. When you have the key in the run condition the primary side(coil) of the relay will close the contacts of the secondary side of the relay thus turning the fan on. Look at my schematic above. It's all there. The picture is clearer if you click on it.

Yes the fan will run all the time if you hook it where it's hot all the time if you don't install a switch. There are lots of ways to hook up an electric fan. I did mine so I can control it from the cockpit with a switch--no thermal sensors or anything. I pulled power from the starter and grounded the fan to the chassis. I grounded the toggle switch to the "birdcage" inside the car. The hardest part was drilling a hole through the firewall for the wire and fitting a grommet.
