Default Can somebody ID this part?

I was putting the stering column back together and this appeared in the floor board. It is no where on the diagrams and I don't remember it when I took it apart only 2 days ago.

How long is it? Is it about full size in your picture? I'm pretty sure (regardless of size) that it didn't come out of your steering column.

Jim,

it is about actual size. Probably the size of a .22 caliper bullet. I for the life of me can't figure out where it came from. I did't think it came from the column but after what I have been through with it I wouldn't doubt if I had to take it all apart again. :cry

Also I want to thank you again for lending me all your help and knowledge. The material that I had for this particular task just did not show me enough and even if it did I am not sure I would have figured it out at least as relatively quickly as I did.

Thanks
Wade

No idea what this is and what I'm talking about, but if I had to guess from the pictures I'd say it looks like some sort of extended supporting nut. If you have an extra screw lying around, this may be the piece to screw it into. Now to figure out what it supports.

I have seen those kind of fasteners before, but never in a vette. Put it in a pile, I doubt you will miss it........ I wouldn't be suprized if a previous owner set it on the dash and it ended up in the A/C heat duct.
