Default Problems with engine install

I aligned the clutch with a clutch tool, and finally got the engine to sit in the mounts and align (sort of) with the tranny. There is still a 1/4" gap between the engine and the bellhousing. I cannot budge the transmission forward. Any tips?

If you're only a 1/4" off then just bolt it in, no way the clutch disk, input shaft and bearing are not inline. You might just be hangin up on the alignment dowls. I just bolt mine in when it's that close.

I assume you have the rear tailshaft mount bolts loose...all 4 of them....

and also the frame has NOT been hit.....

Be sure theres nothing caught between the bellhousing and block. ive seen wiring get caught up in there. Then the guy clamped it togeather and caused some shorts and elec problems.

If it doesn't start to move, don't force the issues. I would hate to see you break an ear of the trans or bust a bolt off somewhere.
