Anyone have experience with this tire? I need some tires for my new wheels and although finding front tires aren't a problem, finding rears IS.
I would like some input on stability, wall stiffnes, handling and such on these tires. I do NOT want soft wrinkle wall type tires, the stiffer the better. These are about the only tires in 16" that fit a 12"rim.
It's either 31X16.50R-16LT or 29X15.50R-16LT.
I'm not very much into drag racing (there are no drag strips here, the environment freaks have too much power here), I'm into road racing (thatnk god for that German autobahn only about 10 miles from my place :) )
I run the Hoosier 29x15.5x15 on my 49 Chevy Truck great inprovement over Micky Thompson Sportman. Good traction in the rain and smooth ride . I am running 12" wide rims . I would use them before I used any other perfomance tire.
Performer, do you have a pic of the tires?? I want to kind of gauge how tall they are. I know yours are for 15" rims but the ones for 16" rims are also available in 29" height (and 31")
Sorry, I dont have a camera fitted to my computer . I can say that they fill the fender wells up . I can fit 22" wide under each fender . The height will be the same on a 16" rim as a 15". The only difference will be the side wall thickness. If you are going to use them on a Vette you will have to have a hugh tub .
that's what I meant for 16"to be available in 29" heights. 29 isn't that high at all, the 274/60/R15s I had on there were around 28 inch in height and 1"on top of that isn't too bad. I'll need flares but that isn't a poblem.
